I really don't understand this. If leaders can take choppers or aircrafts for rallies, why can't the polling officials get choppers one day in 5 years. After all a few crores for these chopper rides would not add much to the estimated 3426 crores. Moreover it will also ensure security for the EVM's. If this is a border area, the Army's services could be utilized.

NYT does not have the correct map. It does not even make a pretense that Aksai Chin and parts of eastern J&K are now controlled/occupied by China but disputed by India. Some editor has done a sloppy job. But then what else is expected from NYT.
