Many people change their parent-given names for convenience, numerology, acceptability, and other reasons.

What is your opinion when you find someone has changed his name?

After migrating if one changes name so others have little trouble pronouncing it, I am OK with it. But not change everything. For example Thirunavakkarasu Anantapadmanabahan can be shortened :-)

There is no need to change religion, face structure and all other things with name change though. Many chinese change their religion with their names - Michael Chang, Edward xiaong and so on. You get the trend.

Interestingly north Indians almost never change their names because their names are short usually. Kishore Joglekar, Sunita pandit etc.
