Re: is Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev another Nithyananda?
COIMBATORE: Isha Yoga Centre is in the eye of a fresh controversy after a middle-aged mother petitioned the district collector that her son was confined on the premises of the yoga centre.
This comes hardly five days after a retired TNAU professor and his wife petitioned the collector about both their daughters being held captive in the centre. Incidentally, parents of two former students of Isha Samskriti School complained of harassment at the school.
On Monday, a wife of a retired police officer, Thamilselvi Mariappan, petitioned the collector stating that her 32-year-old son, Ramesh, was being held captive in the Isha Yoga Centre. "My son was so smart. We worked hard to educate him through college and he managed to get himself a good job in the Singapore government," she said.
"He was doing extremely well but slowly started attending their yoga classes with a friend who was part of the centre in Singapore more than four years ago," she said. "The next thing we know is that he quits his job and returns to India and goes straight to the yoga centre to settle down."
The woman in tears said when she and her husband visited her son, the boy's head was shaved and he was clothed in plain white clothes. "This is a boy who used to dress so smartly in jeans and jerkins," she said crying. "Our son never visited us after joining the centre and hardly even calls us," she added.
The woman and her husband decided to file a petition after their son refused to visit them even after her husband suffered an accident. "My husband suffered an accident and has been in bed for a month now, but that boy never visited us. We even called and informed him," she said. "Even when we visit him, he hardly meets our eyes and talks. He does not look happy, confident and at peace," she added.
On Sunday, parents of two boys who had studied at the Isha school claimed that their sons were called "aggressive", but were harassed and made to clean bathrooms, cowsheds and even the whole centre.
Incidentally, another 20 volunteers from Isha Yoga Centre petitioned the collector on Monday to take action against all those "defaming" and "falsely accusing" the centre.
"There was a disgruntled volunteer called Senthil whose sons were dismissed from Isha Home School four years ago for bad behaviour. Since, then he has been instigating trouble for the centre," said V T Valluvan, a volunteer.
"I have been a volunteer for 15 years but I'm still not a sanyasi or swami," he said. "People turning to sanyasi and brahmachi are by their own will," he added.

Agreed. All these babas/godmen are supposedly realized souls. But instead of shunning material wealth and living renunciate lives, these people amass cash, properties, cars, jewelry, etc. And being connected to powerful people means they can do all kinds of sleazy things without fear of retribution.MaxEntropy_Man wrote:Answer to question in the title of OP: does a bear shit in the woods?
