Please replace "Grow stiff at English inset" with "Grow as stiff attentive introvert." The letter count remains the same at (6).

SEA SALT (#3), PASS (#4), TENURE (# 5), FATTEN (# 6), AND STEAMER (# 7) are all correct. On # 7 since I was setting the clue based on a steamed dish of clams I used plural "clams" instead of the singular "clam." A minor attempt at deception; glad you caught it.
