Which of the states should be included a part of Hindia
Survey on Hindia
Now that any doubt about Hindia has been cleared, it is high time that SuCHERS decide the definition of HINDIA.
P.S. Note this is not about North/South and vote for as many choices as you like.

Re: Survey on Hindia
Also wondering whether there are any 'Indi Prachar Sabhas' in other regions of the country where 'Hindi' is not the native language. If you look at poll results the claim of majority doesnot hold water.. This clearly shows the intent which is nothing but pushing something onto throat of other states. What a waste of efforts/resources.

There are other prachar sabhas, for example in the northeastern states.FluteHolder wrote:Also wondering whether there are any 'Indi Prachar Sabhas' in other regions of the country where 'Hindi' is not the native language. Re: Survey on Hindia
Hindia represents states where "Hindi" is the "primary" language. That excludes all the states on your list except Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh.
Hindia comprises of the following states only:
Uttar Pradesh
Bihar
Madhya Pradesh
Jharkhand
Chattisgarh
Haryana
Uttaranchal

Re: Survey on Hindia
The good thing about the term Hindia is that it replaces the offensive terms Bimaru and cowbelt that are normally used to refer to the Hindi-speaking region of India. Bimaru stands for Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh; Jharkhand, Chattisgarh and Uttaranchal were all separated out from those original Bimaru states. For this reason, Hindians should be happy that this term has been coined.

Re: Survey on Hindia
OTOH, the word Hindi was coined by outsiders entering the region from the North West, to refer to the language of the Hindustanis they encountered.
And despite Rashmun's brave arguments to the contrary, we know that it is neither a national language nor is it a link language spoken or understood by all Indians. So the word "Hindi" itself is erroneous. Naming a region Hindia would amount to compounding the error with circular logic.
On the other hand, Bimari has a nice sound to it. And speakers can be referred to as Bimaar. Those 7-8 states can be referred to as Bimaristan.

I purposely excluded Rajasthan since the native languge of that state is Rajasthani. It more closely resembles Gujarati than Hindi I am told. If Punjab is excluded because of Punjabi, then the same logic applies here. But I am not opposed to including it.

Nephew: You obviously didn't get Rashmun's memo where he categorically stated that Hindi was the name "coined" by south indians. Since he is an expert on the language southern barbers and rikshawalahs speak (having taken a merry ride in Saidapet to get a haircut), we must respect his scholarly finding that Dhakini is an integral part of Tamil vernacular and the locals converse freely in that tongue, DBHPS not withstanding.
Bimaristan sounds like a nation all to itself. How about Duckni Land? It can even have roller coasters, merry-go-rounds, and duckni characters making this part of the country a tourist attraction.

National food: runny dal
National bird: duck

This is a worthwhile suggestion that I hope my Hindian brothers, sisters and friends (including Master Rashmun) will consider carefully.Merlot Daruwala wrote:OTOH, the word Hindi was coined by outsiders entering the region from the North West, to refer to the language of the Hindustanis they encountered.
