Frampton closed our interview half-seriously, half-impishly, with another kind of calculation: “I’ve co-authored with three Nobel laureates. Only 11 theoretical physicists have done that. Six out of those 11 have won Nobel Prizes themselves. Following this logic, I have a 55 percent chance of getting the Nobel.”

This is exactly the kind of news I love.

The over-educated stupid man got done in by his dick. That is what happens when you are lonely and crave for love and sex. You let go of common sense and logic.

Btw what was he thinking? Looks like he never watched nor read the news. Did not live in the real world.

One story about his search for a new wife certainly bolstered this view. Why would a young woman like that be interested in an old guy like you?’ But he really believed that he had a pretty young woman who wanted to marry him.” When I later asked Frampton what made him think that Milani was interested, he replied, “Well, I have been accused of having a huge ego.”

I hope professor's <name and picture changed by NYT> wife and kids don't find about his non-SuCH related activities. Is he in jail? I sincerely hope they provide internet access there so he can continue posting here...and listen to music.

** i agree with you that he must have known about the drugs. did this man have money-problems in north carolina, a gambling habit or some such thing? i wonder if maybe he created the whole milani thing from the get-go. either that or he did fall in love with this online trickster and was willing to smuggle the drugs for that person. and he thought he could get away with it, most likely.
