Just now read the article fully. Interesting to read how the current admission criteria at IVy leagues came about. It might have been to discriminate against jews, but they are using it to differentiate good from the bad as well as discriminate the desirables from the undesirables.

The process institutionalized by the "Ivy Leagues" has become the de facto process in all colleges, professional admissions and scholarship awards. After all, Ivy league cannot be wrong.

No matter what process these schools come up with, the motivated ones in the lower, poor strata (mostly the latest immigrant group) will figure out the process in 10 to 20 years. In any case, this is the process and that is how one has to play.

Good article for everyone to read.

P.S. as i said this 2 years ago, the name IVY League was coined by a sportscaster in the early 30s. There was no "IVY League" term before that.
