Well, since you asked...
..yes, I survived the 7/13 blasts, all within a two-mile radius without loss of life, limb or any bodily parts.
Thank you all for asking. What? You didn't? Fine. Be that way.

MD, didn't know you lived close to the bomb blast. Were you in Dadar, Zaveri Bazaar or Operah House? Glad you are safe.

Last night it was sombre since nobody knew if there were more bombs, what was the extent of damage etc. Today people are going about their life as usual. Bomb blasts, it appears, have now become just another hazard one puts up with at this horrid place.
Oh yes, folks are most annoyed at all those gratuitous appeals for calm etc and most of all, VIPs descending here in a show of concern - which means the traffic jams will be worse than usual.

Re: Well, since you asked...
PS: I think there was more outrage this morning that the various subways and low-lying areas keep getting flooded after all the rains despite the municipality's annual promises that it won't happen that year - than from the bombs.

The reason we did not ask was because we knew you would always be right in the middle of such an event.....

Drama Queen! I spent my childhood in Punjab during the height of terrorism. There were multiple killings of over 25 people within 2 mile radius of my residence.
I was once going out to play and my mother asked me to change the school uniform. I usually wouldn't listen to her, but that day I did. Those 2 minutes possibly saved my life otherwise I would have been riding my bicycle on the street while terrorists were firing indiscriminately to clear the traffic while being chased by the cops.

So what happened in those two minutes? You learned about the firings and did not go, or by the time you went they had killed and gone?

I'm sure people, with the exception of those related to the blast in some way, would be going on with their lives.

I was just 5 houses away from the street. I heard the shots and police sirens and we all went on our roofs to see if we could see anything. The terrorists and police cars had already sped away and we could see nothing, but I wasn't allowed to go out to play.
I later learnt that 3 people died and 3-4 were injured in the ~100-150 yard stretch of the main street between my intersection and the plot where we used to play cricket. 2 people who were eating pan at the pan shop diagonally opposite the plot died. We went to see the spot next day. I couldn't ascertain if the footpath was red because of blood or paan spit.
I was short and thin, and did look innocent.

Dont' remember the ad. Master raju was a famous child artist in the 70s movies. I think he was the kid in the movie 'Parichay', and so on. Also did some teen supporting roles, like in Woh Saat Din. Bombed as as adult.

Good to know...feel a bit sorry for all the residents of Mumbai.
Re: Well, since you asked...
Glad to know you are safe. On days like these, are you tempted to move out of Mumbai?
Last year I read a few articles by pakistani author Mohsin Hamid of the novel The Reluctant Fundamentalist. His offered glimpses into the lives of residents in Lahore. He mentions that some schools installed shatterproof windows in order to protect kids, once a social guest at his party inadvertently revealed a concealed weapon in his home, the shootings in the streets during business hours, the shut-downs in the city in anticipation of violence 'coz something went wrong in the US or mideast, and so forth.
Got me thinking whether Mumbai is headed in that direction as well. Not now but, given the frequency of these occurrences, perhaps another 10 years?

Much appreciate the concern, Hotdog. Drinks on me next time you're in Mumbai provided (a) it's not a dry day and (b) more bombs don't go off in the vicinity
