Not much too choose between them at this time.
Kohli is around international game a little longer and also plays one day and t20.
In few years India will have two pillars of international calibre.

The other three need to prove themselves abroad. Rahane has to prove himself even in India.
Rohit is probably the most likely to succeed. Rahane needs to put together 3 or 4 fifties to give himself some confidence.
Dhawan seems to be a sehwag in the making. I am not sure his temperement and technique will allow him to succeed in pacy, bouncy., and/ or swinging conditions. If he succeeds proving me wrong, he would be the most exiting Indian batsman.
India produced decent batting talent over the becades but bowling talent is limited and rare. Low quality bowling exposes Indian team to more trouble.

i really like pujara. saw him bat for the first time ever (i could not watch the first innings). this guy is the great wall. him and kohli are close calls. kohli has already proven himself in ODIs. like dravid, pujara too, in time, will find a place in ODIs. his strike rate was phenomenal in the last couple of hours of play today -- he can attack when necessary.
nothing beats test cricket. ODIs are awesome but tests are a different flavour. they are a test of your temperament, skill and craftiness with a chance of a second innings to make amends.

Yes.
It doesn't matter if Kohli has a greater fan following because of all the hoopla made about him but he has done quite well. Pujara was very impressive today. These youngsters are beginning to prove themselves. Let us see how we do after this test and the next before we glorify them too much.
