Shobha, a sitting MLA was seriously injured after the four-wheeler in which she was travelling turned turtle at around 11.30 pm last night.
“it seems the vehicle driver lost control while trying to take a turn as paddy was put on the road.”

Which fool had put paddy on the roads?

RIP

If you are looking for CONartists among farmers, you found one in this episode. These guys put their harvest on the road so that the grain is separated from Laloo's food (the strands) with the traffic moving on it. After a day, they collect and bag the paddy. కక్కుర్తి వెధవలు.

They put stones to demarcate the paddy zone on the road. in many cases they even walkway without removing the huge stones from the road.
while i saw this paddy on the road in other parts of ap, kurnool seems to be one of the few places that put stones on the road.
an unnecessary loss if life.

That's common practice in rural India..

Around our area (Orissa/Andhra/Chattisgarh tri-state area) they put jute on the roads for miles on end, but no stones. The jute itself is loaded two stories high on bullock carts. Those carts traverse NH43 as if its their constitutional right, and not only do they slow down the traffic on the highway and block the view of even truck and bus drivers, but they ruin the road surface so bad, and when the rains come, they get even worse.

In many states in India, farmers are the biggest vote bank. So, politicians are scared of doing anything to correct such practices.

Also, in rural areas, it is not the law that controls things. The locals come to each others rescue. If a hen suddenly runs on to the road and a car hits it, the driver is subjected to dEhasuddhi and if the owner of the car looks like a wealthy guy, the locals will extract a huge compensation while hurling "sophisticated" abuses at him.

Cattle, ducks, sheep, etc., are allowed to block traffic as the herders don't facilitate traffic flow. They, in fact, derive pleasure in slowing down traffic.

All these problems are an offshoot of the sikular ars-licking by Laloo-ish, Mulayam-ish CONartistry that has gone on unchecked for decades.

Rural folks are showing their corruption through their own ways.
