NGO's are fighting the elections for Congress just to derail NDA Empty NGO's are fighting the elections for Congress just to derail NDA

While we do not hear about Congress campaign. it has activated the NGO network that Congress nurtured (god knows how many are even truly registered) to focus on selected constituencies in Bihar, UP, with the explicit negative intent to NOT get congress back to power but to derail Modi.

Things do look a little difficult for BJP and if complacency sets in (aided) by dubious Opinion polls from folks like NDTV where the sample size was simply not big enough for a vast country like India things could be very difficult for NDA in UP and Bihar. I firmly believe NDTV's objective itself was to create this complacency among BJP supporters.

These jokers, who are mostly Muslims ironically talk about constitution and secularism and are activating a network to create Muslim block votes in each constituency. Allegedly the idea is that in each constituency they will wait till 1-3 PM to see which communities are numerous and accordingly vote after 3 PM to tilt the scales against Modi. There is a massive effort to contain this one man and BJP, even though he specifically asks for votes on the topic of development.

Excerpts

JAVAB is concentrating its efforts on 25 constituencies in Uttar Pradesh, 18 in West Bengal, another 18 in Bihar and some 8 in Maharashtra, apart from some seats in Karnataka and Assam. They are mostly seats with a sizeable minority population.
Like the NGOs in Varanasi, they are not averse to seeking votes for other parties to “stem the Modi tide”. “So in Bihar we could be working to support the RJD or Congress, in Uttar Pradesh it could be the BSP or even the Samajwadi Party despite what happened in Muzaffarnagar…
In the south we have only gone as far as Karnataka due to serious budgetary constraints. We are in fact running on a shoestring budget — some Rs 20 lakh collected through donations and personal efforts,” social activist Shabnam Hashmi of Act Now for Harmony and Democracy (ANHAD), who is associated with the JAVAB initiative, says.
Azhar Khan of the Maharashtra-based Pragatik Vichar Manch insists the JAVAB campaign is non-political. “We have started campaigning in eight-nine constituencies and the response on the ground is good. Nearly 200-300 small civil society groups and individuals have joined us. We don’t see a Modi wave. Most interesting is the response of youngsters. Most of them feel they have been misled on the so-called development of Gujarat. They also express reservations about a PM candidate with such poor knowledge of the country’s history and geography,” Khan says.

RSS does not claim it is a NGO. It claims it is a cultural organization. The equivalent ones would be the Jamaat.

Many of these NGO's receive government funds for their sustenance. It is clearly illegal for them to be taking political positions. An NGO's job is to work among the people and uplift them by providing self help or micro economical needs or work on health aspects etc.. An NGO's job is NOT to take political positions.

Moreover the article clearly says Congress party functionaries were involved in monitoring the video messages etc.. Clearly Congress cannot directly appeal to Muslim voters, as per EC guidelines and are using these channels to effectively do the same.

These ngos seem ti be doing the anti mod campaign in public view. If it is illegal, why are they not afraid? why us bjp not complaining to ec and courts!
ngos are claiming that their effort is non political. that is big hogwash. but they seem to be doing everything in the open.
