Looks like she is not a very articulate faculty member. She could have easily written that she couldn't accommodate him at this time and would keep his application on file (i.e., in the garbage bin).

If she wrote that she is scared of him becoming touchy and feely in shopping malls, transit trains, buses, etc., that would have been more realistic. :-)

the german professor is right in frankly spelling ut her reason.

The fella should ALSO have written back saying..."thank you. i did not realize that you had several women in your group. i hv heard that german women sleep around and spread STD, including hiv...i withdraw my application"
