Yes, and in the sense of a noble person and as a member of a local tribe (or "visha").

The origin of the word "Dravida", as explained in "The roots of the word Dravid" (http://www.geocities.ws/lamberdar/dravid.html), probably is from the time of Adi Sankara, and it has very little to do with South India as a whole and the South Indians as a certain class of people (dark complexioned etc.) living in the southern part of Indian subcontinent and as linguistically non-Sanskritik.
