This is something his thieving scoundrel of an opponent would have never done. She even stole 200k worth of furniture when she left the white house and was forced to return it.

He made a lot of money from his racist* supporters. He quintupled the rent he charged to his own campaign after they started donating to his campaign. He funneled millions in campaign spending to his own companies -- $6 million as of May, and he was just getting started. So yeah he can give up $1.6 million over four years.

* Some, I assume, are good people.

He is THAT allergic to paying taxes haha.

Even George Washington accepted small salary even though he didn't want to and didn't need to, coz he didn't want to set that as a precedent for future presidents who weren't rich.
