===> I personally know a desi from India who did his undergraduate at MIT and then got his Ph.D from an Ivy league school. He is a professor now. The man completely believes in Astrology.

Looks like his math and science education from all these prestigious schools did squat to dispel his deeply ingrained superstitions.

Key word is "compartmentalize". Well educated Indians are Masters at that. That helped them preserve Caste system and many social systems while espousing progressive philosophies.
