A UK charity sent to Lanka 300 wheel chairs for war victims. It was held up at Lankan custom officials for over 3 months. According to the charity whch had sent this to war torn African countries, this was the longest delay ever. After 3 months customs officials cleared it and told the charity to pay cusom charges and 3 months syorage fee. This shows Sinhala hatred for Tamils. This seems to be the first time custom was levied on charitable donations.

Lanka did not charge customs when relief was sent for tsunami victims in 2005. What it did was divetrted most relief to Sinhalese and trucks goinmg to Tamils were stooped by mobs for weeks.

rajapaksa sent new year greetings, via sms, to all mobile users in SL in sinhala and english but not tamil. what an ass.

LOL!! i read on the net that the sms cost him $150,000. had he used CB, it would have cost him much less (but they don't have CB in SL). in another news, the hindu, delhi edition, devoted the new year front page to a sycophantic adulation of sonia by a TN political acolyte (who also happens to be the -- officially -- richest parliamentarian). at least the hindu editor apologized yesterday on twitter but no such apology from rajapaksa.

THese politicians think that they woukld get minister post by such worship. Usually they dont get it,
