Endosulfan was banned by most large countries, but India has been using it merrily despite its hazardous effects on human health. The Supreme Court has finally had to step in to ban the this pesticide. Thanks to the unwillingness of our executive and legislative branches to do the right thing, the judiciary is increasingly becoming India's primary lawmaking branch.
