Garden City or Garbage City?

Today, the mounds of unsegregated garbage on our city’s streets are getting bigger, garbage-laden lorries are lined up on thoroughfares with no place to go. As of Saturday, Bangalore does not know what to do with over 7,000 tonnes of garbage dumped here, there and everywhere. More will be dumped in the days to come and with the Ayudha Puja and Bakrid round the corner, we will all soon be right in the midst of a festering nightmare.

Unkil, you seem to have missed the memo. As you know (and would agree), chaddis have forever wanted to be as tough as the Muslims. Notable chaddi intellectuals on SuCH, Ashdoc and Uppili Unkil have now recommended that in addition to their morning drill, all chaddis should start practising animal sacrifice to build up that Muslim-like toughness and bloodlust.
While beginners can start by slitting the throats of chicken, ultimate toughness on the wannabe-Muslim scale, according to these intellectuals, will only come by killing goats. So this Bakrid, in an unusual instance of Hindu-Muslim syncrecity, you will see vast numbers of chaddis join the Muslims in killing goats.
In anticipation of the forthcoming glut in the mutton market, this fakular glutton is already smacking his lips.

that reminds me of some ambitious, traditionally vegetarian hindus now eating only non-vegetarian food - shrimp, fish, mutton, and chicken, in one meal - to build up their aggressiveness and virility, and bragging about their "achievement" here. i don't think our ambitious hindus have attained the final frontier yet: eating only beef and pork in ewwwery meal. they are not very different from ashdoc or uppusaamy.Merlot Daruwala wrote:Unkil, you seem to have missed the memo. So Panner-Dosa doesn't help in building virility...even at your age?

You mean like how some traditionally beef-eating, once-virile, now skinny Nazaranis forced to subsist on fruits and leaves in the winter of their lives, brag about all the pasta, asparagus, multi-coloured bell peppers (not plain, but multi-coloured, pleej to note), salad and cheese cake they ate, all in one meal? What's more they drank coffee, red wine and cognac too!

i have a taiwanese friend in grad school who did just that. we'd go out to eat sometimes and he'd pick out all the vegetables from his heavily meat-laden dish and put them aside. later we became research collaborators. he recently survived a massive heart attack and has since changed his behavior.
