Dear Gaylord... Empty Dear Gaylord...

Never thought I'd expect to come across a person in real life called Gaylord, let alone write a letter to him. Doing both today. How the heck do I start it: Dear Gay? Dear Gaylord?

Just found out that his last name isn't any better. It has the word 'gang's embedded in it. Wondering if his parents were trolling when they named him!

If "Gaylord" is First Name, use the last name instead...like Dear Mr. Fokker
If "Gaylord" is Last Name, use the first name instead...like Dear John

If "Gaylord" is like "Cher" with only one name, use "Dear Mr. G"
Very Happy

If your question was for me - read on:

If it was to you at the workplace - then maybe yes :-)

No seriously, it depends on the high-comedy factor...with a name like that it'd be tough to pass...I know of people (like my attorney) who still address people in every email like that!

Damn! Yet another area where my Sulekha persona creeped into real life! The letter is already sent. WTH will happen now?

LOL! I had to work with a certain Gaylord too.
These is a Gaylord Indian Restaurant in India. Initially I didn't know that it was a non-Indian name and kept wondering which of our Gods was gay that they opened a restaurant under his name..
