Please post any admin requests on this thread. If you do not want to make your request public, please send a PM to this ID. Admin logins will be infrequent. This sticky thread is how I will keep track of open requests. Any questions related to forum administration can also be posted here.

i draw the line at potential disclosure of personal info. it's not the crassness of the content.

Max, thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will respond to this in my admin capacity. I am happy to remove the post if either of these happens:

1. The original poster requests removal of the information he posted. A private request is adequate.

2. The person whose purported private information is disclosed requests its removal. A private request is adequate. No explanation of any sort regarding the accuracy of the information is required.

As we discussed early in the life of this forum, this is the only way I can think of by which I can avoid any bias in claims of disclosure of purported personal information.

Now, in my personal capacity as a poster: I absolutely hate it when people disclose purported personal information of other posters. Propagandhi, do not refer to JM's family members by any purported real names. It violates all norms of decent conversation. JM, do not refer to Propagandhi's family members by any purported real names. It violates all norms of decent conversation.

I urge both Propagandhi and JM to request the removal of the purported information about each other's family members that they have posted. Alternatively, they may request that the purported information about their own family members. Either way, I would much rather prefer that information removed.

hi PP,

I have some issue to report. Whenever I try to post the link to an youtube video it doestnot load the video link with video (ready to be seen while it can be played in the posted small window). It gives the broken link with the youtube/ in the bginning of the link. I tried quite a few times . Is there any bug or what I am doing wrong?

It is happening in any random video links. It doesnot happen on some other youtube links. Not sure anything to do with youtube videos or bug. Thanks in advance for looking into it.

try without the "s" in "https" and it should work. i too had the same issue and a kind soul enlightened me.

The test should be, in my opinion :

1. Is the personal information related to a private individual?
2. Has there been a reasonable request to delete the information?
3. Does it look prima facie to be a case of prurient interest on the part of the poster?

If so, delete.

dear admin, jahangir who visits this place semi regularly (I wont reveal his info) is very pissed you're allowing pictures of him to be posted and personal details revealed in a distasteful way by trouble mongers, malcontents and simple language peddlers. please delete them per the reasonable standards of privacy any person dead or alive can and should expect from this high standard forum.

i would have liked thumbnail pics a bit bigger like those on rashmun's forum. but that's just me and this is not exactly a request you need to spend time on. i think there was a discussion on the size of these pics when this forum was new, but i don't know what was discussed in it. if this is how everyone likes it, so be it.

yes, that would be nice. i am hesitant to post any DP for it appears very small and almost not visible. maybe this should be put to poll for fun -- i'll start one. the disadvantage is that it overshadows the content or text of the post.

Is there a setting in forumotion to display embedded links only if the user logs in ?
For example , the link in this uppili's post,

I thought one can create as many handles as one wants using a fictitious e-mail ID. If that be the case where is the need to modify the handle name through admin?

Correct, you can create as many handles as you'd like. But if you want your old posts under the old name to still show up as your posts after your name change, then you would go through admin for that.
