In 1981 Spengler admitted to killing his grandmother with a hammer. He served a 17-year prison sentence and had an uneventful parole to 2006.

They let him out too soon.

Should have kept him in jail till he died there.

It is not only the main issue. As a convicted felon, he should have never had or access to a gun.
