House Republicans think this deal is a surrender, don't like it.

Did repub finally decided to kill it? I read they are now in conferece from 5:15pm.
How much of this dramanfor their conservative base and how much of this is for real?
It does not look at 6pm. But i would wait till the fat lady sings.

If the Boehner does not bring it to the floor - his condition of a majority of republicans - then the public will openly blame repubs for the mess. The Senate reps have voted for it. Only those with > 450K will be taxed at the pre-Bush rate. The house will come out looking like surrogates of the super-rich Motch brothers.

What the Palinists want cannot be provided as it will require cuts in "entitlements" and no rate hike on the super rich.

The House will cave in.

The repubs want to show the public they are tough and going with the Prez only reluctantly - all for the good of the country.

The house will vote the Senate bill with "poison-pill" like amendments on "cuts". The Senate has to re-vote the amended bill or has to go to a House-Senate conference - which will then have to be voted by both chambers.

All these within the next 4 hours?

Nada.... The repubs should change their name to Motch Party - who control almost 80 republican congressmen.

Why can they dig up some dirt on the Motches...should not be too difficult given their secrecy.

Wonder what kind of spending cuts they're referring to, they probably will act mum when they hear word "defense". Extending unemployment benefits is not a great idea but that's like a drop in the bucket.
