Nice. I'm a huge kharvas fan too.
My lunch today was a juicy steak (medium-well) with bacon and sausage. Washed down with lawnmower beer.

agree. i made squash-tomato rase walki sabzi y'day, and kids loved it. Older one hated it until she was probably 10-11. She LOVES anything turai/lauki/sqaush now, takes two servings sometimes. Son hated it until now, but looks like he is a new convert. First he cribbed that he didn't want it, but later came in the kitchen to tell me it's very good.Nila wrote:Yep, nothing like food made by Mom.

He is so cute. I think second ones are more appreciative than first ones. I will always have to ask for a feedback and get a one word reply...from my DS and H. The elder borns are more like they deserve to be served good tasty food, respect, get updates without asking for and so on. I am having rice that has been organically steamed with filtered water from delta faucet, along with ground organic turkey meat sourced from california mixed with alfalfa sprouts, cauliflower from the andes, lima beans from origins unknown and filled with spices from the exotic orient and southasian subcontinent washed down with aqua from kenmore refridgerator. I will then swallow some diet coke bottled in atlanta and chilled with icecubes from the kenmore refridgerator.nevada wrote:About to have lunch in a few. Menu for today:

LOL! Props is right about all these politically-correct products. It's like a "free range" chicken appreciates us a lot more than a caged chicken before we butcher them. But a free range chicken still has fenced-in yards (which is still cruel) so we now have even a better category called "pastured poultry" i.e. it had free access to wander everywhere. These birds appreciate us a lot more particularly because they are not de-beaked like the caged ones for they fight in a crowded enclosure hurting themselves. The logic is that it is humane to de-beak the caged birds to prevent injury and cannibalism. And there is greater logic to being even more humane by not de-beaking birds that are free-roaming. Wow, aren't we the most humane human beings? Time for us to take a bow.Captain Bhankas wrote:roflllllPropagandhi711 wrote:I am having rice that has been organically steamed with filtered water from delta faucet, along with ground organic turkey meat sourced from california mixed with alfalfa sprouts, cauliflower from the andes, lima beans from origins unknown and filled with spices from the exotic orient and southasian subcontinent washed down with aqua from kenmore refridgerator. You obviously didn't get the memo that you go to heaven when you eat free-running pasture-raised chicken and go to hell for eating de-beaked chicken-wire-fenced chicken.Merlot Daruwala wrote:Yes. Oh there is already a special place in hell reserved for me for all the things I've eaten. No amount of free-running pasture-raised chicken can change that for me. But that's fine. Heaven is likely to be full of boring, sanctimonious people anyway.

Heaven could be a boring place but I have decided that is the place for me, so have decided to eat healthy from today.
avocado, spinach, 1/2 banana, mint, green grapes smoothie.
Lunch: Kale cooked with olive oil, red onions, garlic cloves with brown rice cooked along with green gram and sautéed with jeera and grated ginger.

Going to Amber India for lunch buffet. I love celebratory work lunches! And I just finished breakfast - organic banana, organic apple, Odwalla original superfood smoothie and Taste Nirvana Real coconut water. Did a lighter breakfast today to save up my appetite for the impending batting session at the lunch buffet

What is organic banana ... how exactly is it grown to be called organic banana ... moreover, considering most of the bananas sold in the U.S.A. are imported from abroad, how can someone living in the U.S. make sure that the banana he (she) is purchasing at a higher price as organic banana in the local maket is really organic banananevada wrote:Going to Amber India for lunch buffet. Good question about non US products claiming to be organic. How hard is it to bribe someone in a banana republic to get organic certification?Seva Lamberdar wrote:What is organic banana ... how exactly is it grown to be called organic banana ... moreover, considering most of the bananas sold in the U.S.A. are imported from abroad, how can someone living in the U.S. make sure that the banana he (she) is purchasing at a higher price as organic banana in the local maket is really organic banananevada wrote:Going to Amber India for lunch buffet. The nature of banana tree / plant is such that there is no particular "organic" treatment needed for it ... I personally can't think of any use for pesticide for banana.
In addition, the banana (fruit) peel is quite thick and tough and wouldn't let any pesticides get in even if someone used pesticides etc. for the plant for whatever reasons.
Thus it's hard to believe that there is a category of "organic bananas" and people are paying higher price for it than the "regular bananas".
What's next ... organic coconuts?

Chemical fertilizers usually make no difference in terms of organic or regular type of growing of crops, especially if it is banana crop.Captain Bhankas wrote:maybe not pesticides but fertilizers?Seva Lamberdar wrote:
