Kayal,

From what I can read..it's a list of pediatric meds, assume from the IAP Formulary..including an antibiotic, cough syrup..with hand written instructions- one tsp (?) every day, vitamins..But, the dosage instructions are clear in print on the side - neatly organized as கா (morn) மதி (afternoon) மா (even) இ (night). Wish all the names of drugs were printed!

Is there any ambiguity in writing prescriptions in Tamil (assuming the pharmacist knows Tamil)?

One has to assume that there is no ambiguity, and the Pharmacists who fill prescriptions written in Tamil understand what is being prescribed, and would ask for clarification if they need it. It has been a long time, since I have seen prescriptions written in tamil, and can only answer in general terms!

nal iravu vazthukkal Kayal!
