Retirement Gift - Suggestions Empty Retirement Gift - Suggestions

Post by The Absolute Zero Fri Jul 01, 2011 8:17 am

My professor retired recently (1 mo ago). I want to send a gift. Any suggestions?

My original idea was to send United Airlines gift card for $800. I will spare you the lecture about his generosity towards me etc., but yes up to $800 is fine. Thanks in advance. BTW he was from Taiwan settled in USA for last 35+ years.

ROFL...yeah that would be nice. he will come back humbled once he realizes all he knew about his subject was totally wrong and can be explained away in two sentences followed by a smilie.

PS: AZ spending money? I'm gonna stock up on water, bullets and canned food.

IPAD with a nice leather jacket, sounds good.
May not get you up to $800, but it's still something that would stay with him. in contrast, he can easily blow an airline ticket with just one trip.

I don't think one needs to be a geek to use an IPAD. In Maine, they are asking kindergartners to bring IPADs to class:-)

since u didnt like the pen, i'd say give him something personalized like the ipad with his name on it or a beautiful pocket watch with his name inscribed on it.

you can buy him a hot tub or if thats too much then a day at spa? it will relax him and thats wat retirement is about.

buy him a lottery ticket!
