4,4,4,and 7 in last four overs with india having  more than 6 wickets to lose and kohli in 70's.  Total 130.

SL may have won the match right here.

It appears that India has lost the chance to win a Cricket Grand Slam.

Dhobi and Yuvi should announce retirement after this match. This is the best farewell they can get.

Just a thought. he may be working on his retirement bonus. No. not from BCCI.  (11 out of 20 odd balls in last quarter of the innings???)

So sad we missed out on another opportunity for chest-thumping our paper tigers performance on flat tracks, batsmen friendly formats.

CD

Why is it that SL cannot celebrate? how many 200's were scored on this batsmen friendly flat tracks?  Did they get 12 per team versus other team's 11?  Did ICC move the venue to a spinner friendly location to suit Indians and lankans? did they fail to tell the other teams?  Or spin friendly pitches are banned from ICC? Did ICC restricted the other teams to not include spinners? did someone prevent the other team spinners from breaking a ball?

Should cricket only be played on swinging chilly english country side or high bouncing hard fast surfaces australian desert?

Why? what is that you find objectionable that will say SL cannot do some chest thumping? If SL can do it, why not Indians? and why not NRIs if such occasion arises?

Your views seem to be crowded by unrelated political viewpoint.

I was talking about our team not SL, no there is nothing political about it. My point is pretty simple, how would this great team of ours fare against Australia in a test match series facing Mitchell Johnson. Until then all this hype, grandslam records are meaningless.

CD,

Why? only test is mitchell johnson?  I know you are talking about sl but if sl can celebrate why not indians? why special treatment?

WT20 is a game by itself. One does not have to apologize for playing it in sub continent and winner is not responsible for MJ's injury.

You are finding excuses.

How much respect did Windies team get for winning the last T20 WC?

Despite the flat tracks, bowlers have won matches in this tournament for the most part. Thanks to bowlers operating smartly, this tournament felt like a chess game rather than a wrestling contest which it usually is. In the prelims Mishra's bowling won several matches for India. Only the SA-Ind semi final was totally batsmen dominated. SL bowlers just bottled the Indians in the final. 130 for 4 wickets down with Kohli and Dhoni still at the batting crease? That is just amazing. Kohli is great but he cannot do it all by himself. Too bad the rest of the Indian batsmen went AWOL today. SL have every right to celebrate as they won this with smart cricket, not by muscling the ball over the boundary.

I don't know the exact answer but the T20 win would certainly have helped to revive the flagging interest for cricket in the islands. Youngsters there now know that T20 is a way to make big money and get out of poverty.

Last I checked WI was listed as champs of last wt20.

Do not conflate wi test performance with t20 performance or demand a championship should win in all three forms at the same time and that too in perth australia, the home ground of MJ.

Beauty of cricket is that it is different in different conditions. Great are those richards and MCGraths who succeed in all conditions. That does not take away from the performance of lesser souls in fewer locations.

Dale Steyn's record in T20 format is below average yet he is regarded as one the best bowlers based on his test record. Does any of the top bowlers (I can't name one) in T20 format are regarded as a good bowler?
