That was so unnecessary poking the ball outside the off.

Can anyone besides Bhuvnsewar is capable of taking wickets? Shami is a bit of disappointment thus far, but he & Ishant appears to have supported Bhuvaneswar well with decent tight spells. I guess that's it for for Binny, he was unlucky to be given out lbw incorrectly though.

just took my eyes of the screen to run some chores and boom two wkts gone in two balls. wtf!

often i tell myself they're losing wkts because i am watching. this time they are losing wkts because i wasn't watching.

Don't you know that you are the one who is making them play carefully using your powerful magic eyes sending "waves" through your laptop screen?

Keep a constant watch on them...they are irresponsible.

The ball went off his left arm guard.

It is so so obvious... How can the umpire be so blind and sure? they should be more circumspect when a match is in a critical stage.

This wrong decision will get India a loss - for sure.

350 - given our weak - very weak - bowling. With the pitch keeping the odd ball low, we will regret not having a genuine spinner.

Looks like Dhoni is trying desperately to get out.

Why in the world did the third umpire reviewed a clean bowled wicket (Kohli) albeit for noball but not Rahane's wicket.

what language do vijay and dhoni converse in?

this is funny!
Hindi 1, Tamil 1

Murali Vijay cannot speak Hindi. Ishant Sharma doesn't understand Tamil. Witnessing the two of them get along as goalkeeper and the only defender respectively for the yellow-vests side during India's customary football warm-up was one for the ages. 'Keeper Vijay wanted Ishant to cover the flanks. Defender Ishant wanted Vijay to focus on his keeping. From the blue side, forward Shikhar Dhawan collected Virat Kohli's through-ball to perfection, slotting one past Ishant's still legs and through Vijay's open ones. Vijay jokingly yelled at Ishant, who didn't seem to find it funny. "What do you want, kya chahiye boss?" yelled Ishant, much to everyone's delight. "Seriya valayada da, avaladhan (Play properly, that's all)," came the reply. Blues may have been leading yellows 1-0, but it was all square in the Hindi-Tamil match-up.

First hour tomorrow will decide who gains upper hand in this game.

Only thing that is going in India's favor is that a win by run chase in 4th innigs at Lords has been MOSTLY less than 200. If India can get 300 (knock wood), they may have a decent shot at winning.

318 is not an unbeatable score but is a decent target for a fourth innings challenge on most grounds around the world. Lord's is known to be a a good pitch even on a fifth day in the past. Add indian bowling ineffectiveness.  England is in with a chance as they have time and batting to win.

But this is a fair chance for indian team and its bowling to prove that they are a top team in world cricket.  The Indian bowling showed a little spark but they have to complete the task in this test.

oddly there has been only one instance in away matches of india setting a second innings target of 300+ and losing. and that was in perth 1977. i find that hard to believe but that's what the cricinfo statisticians were showing.

That stat is more reflective of india's ineptitude in overseas conditions.

i don't understand. how so? when they have set a second innings target for the opposing team of 300 or more runs, they have only lost once. their overseas record may in general be poor, but how is this statistic indicative of that?

Highlight of today is Jaddu's celebration after reaching 50. India can still lose this game. Getting into a winning position and then throwing away the game is nothing new for this team.

"only the third player to score a half-century and five wickets in successive Test matches after Ian Botham and Richard Hadlee."

Normal cricketing wisdom says India should win.  Past performance does not inspire confidence. But there is always a new start.

My question is: how come Binny did not bowl even a SINGLE over in England's second inning, when Dhawan and Vijay were given bowling?

Why is BINNY in the team?

Daddy's influence obviously. I think he is in to fulfill the minimum requirement as a "capped" India player so that he gets a fatter IPL contract.
Dhobi doesn't seem to like this and is obviously not giving him a chance to shine. In the first innings he dropped a catch off Binny's bowling. I hope he can set aside his dislike/preference for one day and use Binny correctly to win this match.

This match is FIXED.

Sharma to Stokes, OUT, Stokes' miserable run continues, duck again! Ishant has five, again the short ball has done it, this was well outside off Stokes goes for the pull, hits low on the blade and swirls high towards midwicket, safely taken by Pujara, India tighten their grip on this one, Stokes' recent scores for England: 0,5,5,4,0,4,0,0,0,0
