Amir Khans Satyamev Jayate was Uninformative and Boring
I am new here so excuse any mistakes.
Contrary to popular opinion I found Amir Khan's Styamev Jayate very
uninformative and I was not moved on watching is as I was expecting. Not
to say that the subject he chose was not relevant or his intention to
behind the program to bring social change is not great- but I was
disappointed for many reasons
Main reason- he did not bring forth any facts that were New or Novel.
Who in India does not know that female foetacide is not a fact in India?
Its been known for ages. Right from an autorikshawala to a a baniya to a
n educated person knows that people from all strata of the society kill
baby girls.
He did not spend time doing adequate research. All he showed was one
graph showing diminishing boys vs girls ratio. This simple fact was not a
shocker- this simple statistics is easily is often quoted in newspapers
and is easily available on the Internet
He did not explain the X and Y chromosome bit which was THE MOST
important fact that these killer-parents need to know. How could he not
spend time elaborating it for the benefit of non-science people???
His speech was slow and awkward, not strong. He did not strongly
denounce the the culprits, just matter-of factually narrated some facts
in an awkward and boring fashion.
His whole "speech" about respecting your "Maan" (mother) at the
beginning was useless and Irrelevant as MOST criminals committing these heinous acts were Women themselves. Why did he not spend time explaining
that irony?
Minor Points
He made light of a serious topic by bringing in the Salman Khan joke
His laughter and smile during the interviews was at inappropriate times, his tears seems fake
He charged Rs 3 Crore per episode, a criminal amount which he should have donated to an NGO instead.
