Who will lead India as prime minister following the 2024 parliamentary elections?
Hopefully, all sides (political parties / alliances) will be forced by the Election Commission (EC) to declare their prime ministerial candidates prior to the Parliamentary elections.
Unless a political party (alliances) announces its prime ministerial candidate beforehand, EC must not mention its name (e.g. AAP, BJP, Congress, DMK or TMC etc.) on the election ballot containing names of that party's candidates running to become MP (member of parliament) and treat them as independent candidates without any political party affiliation.
Announcing the names of potential prime ministers by the political parties (alliances) before the elections will lead to greater transparency, accountability and expeditiousness in the election / selection of nation's prime minister by the voters.
Moreover, it is the responsibility of voters to cast votes in favor of only those candidates (running to win as MP) whose political parties declare the names of their prime ministerial candidates before the elections: an important step towards ensuring positive campaigning by the political parties / alliances while giving voters a choice and clear idea beforehand (before they cast votes) about the next potential prime minister (Govt. leader).

Voters need transparency and accountability in the selection / choice of their prime minister, which will never happen as long as political parties / alliances don't declare the names of their prime ministerial candidates beforehand (prior to the voters casting votes for MP candidates fielded by political parties).
The axiom is if a political party / alliance does not declare the name of its prime ministerial candidate prior to the parliamentary elections, it basically is disorganized and incompetent and it does not deserve people's votes in the elections.
