Is Scotland the only country that formed voluntary union with England? i have not yet checked this fact but i think England occupied all other nations without their consent.

The greatest 20th century Tamil writer Subramanya Bharati would have no doubt cracked your nuts with a nut cracker if you had made this comment in his presence. Bharati was a staunch nationalist who wrote many famous Tamil poems eulogizing Bharata Mata.

Perunjsiththiranar (Perun) was a misguided fool. Tamil had evolved since the days of Sangam literature and had absorbed many words of Sanskrit, persian, English, etc. origin. This fool Perun wanted to turn the clock back and started doing propaganda to the effect that Tamilians should start using Sangam era tamil in their literary activities. Tamils rejected the demand of this idiot.

There was no sambar in Sangam era Tamil Nadu. In fact sambar was an invention of Maharashtrians. Does this mean that Tamils should stop having sambar and eat only what Sangam era Tamils were eating ( primarily rice and honey)? Perun should have done some serious thinking before sprouting his nonsense.

It shows the ignorance of whoever wrote it.

Prior to Maratha rule, sambhar and rasam were not a part of the diet of the people in and around Thanjavur. Only after Maratha rule, sambhar and rasam were incorporated into the cuisine of this region. This is rather surprising, but this is what you were told, by a Chennai based Tamil academic who had also come to give a lecture in the conference you attended. The tamil academician told you that the typical traditional food of people of this region--prior to the Maratha rule-- was rice and honey.

Re: A Map of all countries which declared independence from England
Britain seemed to be very much exhausted and depleted by the end of WWII (1945) while fighting against Germany, Italy and Japan as part of Allies in the big war.
Most of the infrastructures in Britain were in ruins because of German air raids.
Britain's manpower at home and abroad (especially the soldiers in army etc.) was very much reduced (injured or killed) and that country was experiencing a critical shortage of money and resources (including military weapons).
Moreover, Britain's European neighbors were in worse shape as a result of WWII.
As a result whatever manpower, money and resources Britain was left with when WWII ended in 1945, it needed to rebuild itself and help in the rebuilding of its neighbors in Europe.
Naturally, Britain was in no shape and mood to control and hang on to its overseas colonies any longer while lacking manpower, money and resources (including weapons) as a result of WWII and it thus ended up giving them freedoms one after other, starting with India in 1947.
