i resemble everyone
but myself, and sometimes see
in shop-windows
despite the well-known laws
of optics,
the portrait of a stranger,
date unknown,
often signed in a corner
by my father.

Wow, someone else here likes him too. His poem, "A River" gets me nostalgic. Wonderful writer.

a river is a great poem. what prompted turning to this poem after many years. that and impy's post about her FIL.
