Population explosion in BIMARU states

Fertility rates all across South India have fallen below 2.0. However, they are highest in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajastan and Uttar Pradesh.

What does this mean? We will have more of Mulayams, Laloos, Digvijayas and Gehlots ruling India. Reservation categories will expand. One such category will be: birth in a Bimaru state. SI is screwed! Where is Kayar Vizhi? LOL

Mounting is not the issue. The study suggests that SI women may go mountaineering but don't produce enough babies.

It confirms that outside the Bimaru belt, much of India has a Total Fertility Rate that is below replacement level (2.1). Apart from all four southern states, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Maharashtra and West Bengal have also stabilized their populations (and are at risk of falling over time now). Across urban India, TFR is 2.0 while it is 2.9 in rural India that is Bharat.

More worrisome are the metrics on maternal mortality rate. Women in UP are three times as likely to die due to birth-related complications as women in the south. UP women are 40% more likely to die from such causes than the women of Bihar.

i found the comments on that news item interesting. here are two:

- Most of the population in north india is the results of r a p e s....

- North indian females are like printing press just put some ink and they goes on giving print after print....

BIMARU states are already a big drain on India's economy. If the population grows further, this trend will get worse. On top of it, since they constitute a big chunk in population, they will have more political clout. There will be more entitlement proposals, especially when the govt. is in the hands of CONwallahs.

Two top BIMARU states - Rashmun's UP and Nitish Kumar's Bihar - are competing with each other for backwardness. Mulayam is all upset that the CONgovt in Delhi is thinking of declaring Bihar a basket case (and give 20,000 more crores - all for CON's survival in central govt). He now wants the CONs to declare UP a bigger basket case (so that he gets more money than Bihar; UP already gets 45,000 crores). I can see why some informed SIs get upset with Hindian basket cases. May be TN should forget about Sri Lanka and start worrying about money distribution inside India.

I would imagine it would be above 3.0. You don't need to go to UP and Bihar for that. Take Karnataka for example. Udipi district is 1.2 while Bijapur is 3.0 and Bidar is 2.7 (both B- districts have high Muslim population). So, are you a bigot like me? LOL

these comments remind me of western experts who used to predict the demise of India and China by year 2020 because of uncontrolled population growth. the world today is waiting for that to happen. jm could lead the prayers for the decimated people.

Yeah, I remember that fainting experience. Come think of it, that is an inexpensive way to induce anesthesia for surgeries - a sardarini opens her armpit on the patient's nose and kaboom, he falls off the table!
