the largest collection of joan - a variant of 'juan' i think - miro's works i've seen is at the pompidou museum in paris; there are also several at MoMA in nyc.

loved it! i have never heard of him. i think this might be just after the impressionist era or contemporaneous with it. clearly there is a break from depicting faces realistically like for example you'll see in a much earlier era, say vermeer. he's already introduced asymmetries in faces, exaggerating neck lengths, exaggerating angles and so on. when you move to picasso who came later than this guy, there is complete freedom from realism. so this guy looks like a bridge. liked the music too.
