Hindi author Badri Narain Tiwari questioned that how people can regard themselves as free and independent by using English. The battle of independence was fought and won through Hindi, he reminded. All the great leaders and revolutionaries of any religion or state used Hindi in the freedom struggle.

"One of the most unfortunate things in this country has been the lack of appreciation and support to promote both Hindi as national language." - Gayatri Singh
