if they want to be neocofederate, perhaps it's good to remind them that the original confederates wound up on the losing side.

Looks like a new version of Godwin's law is in play. Everyone seems to forget that most of the Confederates were actually Democrats.

No, that is mentioned in the video. When the Democratic party finally did the right thing and turned away the southern segregationists, the former segregationists took over the GOP. That is one of the main themes that Bartlett and Lofgren discuss in this segment.
