Assuming a child cannot be taught in more than one language right from the start (this could very well be because of shortage of teachers, resources), at some point a language like English does need to be introduced, maybe as early as middle school, to avoid shortchanging the child. If the first language in question offers substantial opportunities, this would be a moot point, but this is not the case with urdu. As of now, English provides that window to broader opportunities. This cannot be an issue viewed as being related only to language pride and unconnected to economics
