i know a lot of indians like this guy. i feel a bit of pity for them. i am grateful for being exposed and given the opportunity to experience and enjoy the diversity that the world has to offer, and yet be secure with no sense of confusion about my own identity.

>>>There was another guy a few years ago who was tearing his hair out over "northies" not accepting him and "southies" seeing him as an outsider and so on. He seemed oblivious to a wider world outside of this, the irony being this internal "crisis" played out on the internet which has shrunk the world to within reach of ones' fingertips.  This has become a cottage industry of sorts in certain circles, but makes for amusing reading.

With tamilians moving to BLR in droves over the last 5 decades and marrying into Kannadiga, Gult, and Marathi families, and Naarthies moving to TN and Karnataka, it will be hard to categorize anyone in puritanical terms.

The only question in my mind is about the author's father. Did he study German in Weimar, Germany or Weimar Germany. If the copy editor paid attention to the placement of the comma, hats off to him/her.
