AAP vs BJP: Prashant Bhushan blames BJP for attack on AAP office

New Delhi, Jan 8 (PTI): Aam Aadmi Party leader Prashant Bhushan, who is under fire for his remarks on Kashmir, on Wednesday blamed the Bharatiya Janata Party and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh affiliated organisations for the attack on the party office, saying they were “extremely frustrated with the rise of AAP”.

”This incident shows extreme frustration on the part of BJP, RSS and its affiliated organisations with the phenomenal rise of AAP. They are afraid of AAP and fear that it will damage their prospect in the Lok Sabha elections,” he told reporters here on Wednesday.

Activists of a right-wing group attacked and vandalised the Aam Aadmi Party headquarters in Kaushambi in Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh to protest against Bhushan's remarks on referendum in Kashmir.

This incident, Bhushan said, proves that those parties are ready to use any means, “even going to the extent of vandalism and physically assaulting AAP leaders and supporters.”

”This shows their fascist mentality and lumpen behaviour. It is unfortunate to see that a national party like BJP is now resorting to all kinds of violence and unleashing its goons,” he added.

It will be good and in the interest of AAP to totally dissociate with this guy. AAP probably shouldn't allow him to make any public announcements on its behalf.

Bhushan is one of the founders (founding member) of AAP.

sevaji, now that you are retired, why don't you join AAP? the fact that you are an astronaut from IIT will hold you in good stead to gain you an AAP MP ticket. if AAP wins, you can revoke the useless caste quota bills as a legislator?

That matter little .. Wiki / google listing him as AAP founding member and ideologue. He probably added that info. himself (as AAP founding member etc.).

If he were an important AAP member(especially a founding member) prior to Delhi elections, he would be Delhi MLA now. Check out the link below for recently elected Delhi MLAs ... there is no Prashant Bhushan on this list ..

He is not from Delhi and so he did not stand for Delhi elections. He is from UP and he will be contesting for a Lok Sabha seat from UP. If you would have googled you would have found that Dr Subramaniam Swami refers to him as AAP Founding member and ideologue in a recent blog. Why would Swami make such a statement about Bhushan?

Both sides playing nautanki that appeals to their constituencies is what I can say. BJP and its supporters better swallow their pride and accept defeat for having gone wrong in their political calculations in Delhi. They were expecting that AAP & Cong don't get together and will force a re-poll are now stuck to the opposition at the mercy of the Cong & AAP dynamics.

Kejriwal is from Haryana, but he ran in Delhi elections. As for Swami claiming Bhushan to be closely associated with AAP (as its founder etc.), that carries little weight / credibility since Swami is not even a member of AAP or in a position to know as to what actually happened or is happening in that party.
