Doesn't matter who does it; it is superstitious behavior.

The implication of the governor's suggestion is that god has already murdered two people this week with his needless cruelty, and he has burned 5 million acres. He has also starved innocent fawn just for fun, when he can easily make the weather better if he wants to. If a human being exhibited such behavior we would consider that person a violent sociopath.

SW, The article makes no reference to your title. "When Hindus do it..." Why the bitterness towards this particular article? There is no mention of Hindus, Muslims, Jews or any other prayer practices.

Haha..Unkil, I wonder which atheists you've been talking to. AFAIK, atheists consider all religions equally preposterous, so there's no question of singling out any one for an "attack". That said, on a board like this which has only Hindus, most anti-religious discussion will end up focusing on Hinduism's silliness. But on old CH, thanks to the presence of a couple of token kishtians, the church also came in for its share of ridicule. So you don't need to feel so victimized.
