Mistresses are OK in France

It’s not just a stereotype — the French really are less likely to morally object to extramarital affairs than are citizens of other countries:
Those data come from this nifty new interactive from Pew Research Center. It shows attitudes toward “moral” issues in 40 countries and finds that France is the only country in which fewer than half of the respondents believed that extramarital affairs were morally unacceptable.
The interactive also reveals that Americans tends to be slightly more judgmental than citizens of the other countries surveyed about marital infidelity but more tolerant of gambling, homosexuality and alcohol use, among other things.

Nice. We are more progressive than even the hot-blooded Spaniards and Italians.
Probably comes from not having the Catholic notions of sin and guilt or the Islamic repression of sexuality.
