AHMEDABAD: Jashodaben Modi, wife of BJP's PM candidate Narendra Modi, wishes to offer prayers at Ambaji along with her husband but only if he agrees. Ambaji is a revered a Shaktipeeth in north Gujarat and a pilgrimage site named after the shrine of Goddess Amba.

It may be pertinent to point out that Jashodaben hasn't eaten rice or rice preparations for the past four decades hoping for a reunion with her husband. Her brother, Ashok Modi, who lives in Unjha, said his sister wants to offer prayers at Ambaji along with Modi — and he emphasized — only if the CM agrees.

"We've never felt the need to keep a religious vow for Modi as we have firm faith in his capabilities. But, if he agrees, we wish to offer prayers together at Ambaji," Ashok said.

"She gave up eating rice 40 years ago in the hope of reuniting with her husband - if not in this birth, then the next," Ashok said. Jashodaben was in the news after Modi acknowledged her as his wife in the affidavit filed before the Election Commission as part of his nomination papers for Lok Sabha elections from Vadodara and Varanasi.

I don't know much about the personal story of Mr and Mrs. Modi..and what happened between them (don't have to know all the details!)..but, if this news story is true..it is kind of amusing, purely from the man-woman relationship dynamics perspective:)  And what a happy fairy tale story line- a reunion would be! 


I remember a very funny stick cartoon where a boy offers flowers to a girl and begs her for attention..she completely ignores him- turns the other way goes and sits far away from him..then another girl comes along and becomes interested in the boy, she does all kind of things to attract him, and the guy slowly gives up on the first girl and responds to the second girl..now the first girl "wakes up"..feels jealous.. and wants the boy..she comes running to compete with this other girl..it is funny..if I remember correctly, he goes with the second girl!


Naturally.. power, money and popularity can "suddenly" make a spouse/ex-spouse seem attractive (and sexy hot!) even to those who are separated and have not lived together for whatever reasons.  Am sure, we all know only a few thousand stories:) 


Mrs. Modi..(am sure she has loads of people encouraging her- ready to exploit!) to come out of the shadows and "claim" her place with her sexy man..esp. with so many women out to attract him now!


Fiction always pales..when compared to real life stories!
