Explain this to me.
These people had low income and their power supply was cut off?
Or, the power output could not keep up with the demand of a rising population?
Are you going to start seeing everything through the goggles of your latest fad, Il Professor-ai?

my point is that power shortages are a reality in india, but the well-heeled are going to find generators to keep them nice and comfy.

Actually, these shortages are self inflicted. State electricity boards are bankrupt and can't afford to buy power. They're bankrupt because politicians legislate free or cheap power without any means of funding such largesse. Add to it power theft and transmission losses. For once, the blame is squarely on the irresponsible politics of doles and largesse.

I'm not worried at all. Lord Modi, just as Govardhan Giridhar, will lift the sub-continental land mass with his little finger and will place where water is abundant.southindian wrote:Global Warming?

But they can still ask for votes to preserve secularism.Merlot Daruwala wrote:Actually, these shortages are self inflicted. State electricity boards are bankrupt and can't afford to buy power. He sure possibly can. 40% of power is simply not paid for - meaning stolen or supplied free of charge...
All these MLAs and MPs abuse their power and almost pay nothing. Their cronies and conies of cronies and the slums they control dont pay. The EB engineer pees in his pants when he gets a call from a local MLA's house. Farmers dont pay and power is stolen everywhere - and EB has no manpower to inspecct and enforce or QUESTION.
Wait for the "cleaning process" in the center to trickle down - quickly to the local MP/MLA level and you will see a vast improvement. Modi ji is a BUSINESSman and was never a cong(i) man t be corrupted by cronyism. almost all oldie BJP memebrs were in congress at some time in the past.
