Re: avocado
God ensured that good food is not monopolized by the powerful by making it bland. He also made sugar and salt addictive so that those who splurge get sick.

i been told sugar and salt are man made, and hence somewhat against nature, and hence not good.

it's buttery and smooth, perfect with a slice of multigrain wheat bread. i sprinkle coarse black pepper on top of it. better than PB&J when you're in the mood for a sandwich. sometimes i guess based on when it was picked, how ripe it is and where the pulp (i'm not sure what else to call it) came from it may have a leafy taste if the pulp was adjacent to the skin or a nutty taste if it was adjacent to the pit.
it falls into that category of foods which are bland but pleasant to the tastebuds without being overwhelming and interestingly they are very filling and curb hunger: like egg whites and tofu. spicy foods i think make you eat more.

yes if it comes in box and looks nothing like the original then it is against nature: like high fructose corn syrupBeatrix Kiddo wrote:truthbetold wrote:God ensured that good food is not monopolized by the powerful by making it bland. Re: avocado
I love avocado - either by itself or in guacamole. I just eat it directly, use it as a bread spread, and use it instead of butter for baking.

Re: avocado
i thought the only purpose for buying an avocado is to make guacamole. i didn't know it has other culinary uses besides guacamole.

- eat it just like that, i like the taste and texture. i like most bland and bitter foods anyway.
- slice it and put it in my sandwich, egg or plain. no need for butter.
- cube it and use in any salad.
- cube it and spice it up with black pepper, etc. and eat it just like that
- obviously guacomole
- d uses the real ripe ones for her hair.

Re: avocado
Initially I didnot like it, but now I like the taste. Try first with not so ripe ones. I put the slices in veggie sandwich (toasted). Take half avocado and sprinkle salt/crushed pepper over it and it tastes good too.

Re: avocado
If it is perfectly ripened , sometimes my tongue detects a flavor like that of letha kobbari ( the flesh of an extremely tender coconut ) . Did anybody else notice that ?

Come on, it's not that bad or tasteless; and it even has no sugar, unlike most other fruits.
