Please note that when you create a new ID, you will be asked to supply an email address. If you are concerned about the admin getting to know your email address, please first create a new email address and then use that to register here. You can register for a new email address at Gmail or any of the other web-based email providers. You can also get a temporary, throw-away email account from http://10minutemail.com (thanks to Some Profile for the suggestion.)

In case we end up making this the replacement of CH, I would like to state a couple of commitments from my side:
  • I do not like moderated forums. I do not intend to moderate this forum.
  • I will not monitor the activities of various handles and seek to clean up after them.
  • I will not make any changes to user profiles.
  • I will not make any changes to the posts made by others. Users may edit their own posts as they see fit.
  • In other words, this forum will not get more moderation than CH.
Once we have this whole thing set up correctly, I intend to not use the administrator account much at all.

If you don't want your online status be known to other forum members, go to Profile->Preferences. There, you have an option called Hide my online status. Set that to "Yes" and save your preferences.

In the preferences page, there are settings for how you want the system to deal with replies, personal messages, etc. If you have any questions or problems, post them here.

People can use temporary, throwaway email service like http://10minutemail.com just to register.
