What is the big deal about Hazare?

All "Indian" news paper head lines are about this Hazare. Even CBS news had a little bit of a news.

What is ther big deal about 15 day fast? If he isa serious go on fast to death.

it's a better way to achieve political goals than recruit helpless children and make them fight your wars at gunpoint and hold your own people prisoners. methods your late leader "the commander" was very fond of. gandhi achieved freedom for india using these methods, the commander got a hole in his head. see the difference?

very well said saar- although I must say circumstances favored Gandhi's time - nevertheless, if this works, it will be only in the land of gandhi, nowhere else, I should think.

KV - you probably think what i said is pretty harsh, and i am sorry if it hurt you. i have tremendous sympathy for your people, the eezham thamizhars, but i cannot ever condone your leader's methods. it goes against the grain of everything i believe to be decent in human beings.

Soimetimes you have to fight and die than go on a 15 dat fast and live.

See my post. I did not ask Hazare to take a gun and fight. I asked him to go on fast to death if he is serious.

If only had he followed a fast unto death millions of lives could have been saved.

ah, de-lurked finally, haven't you? looking at the late commander's pic (RIP), it does not look like he believed in ekadashi and fasts. i am sure he would have surprised us all with his choices if he were to participate in our "vot's for lunch?" threads.

ha ha, the commander was fond of non-vegetarian food, particularly chinese food. no ekadashi for him, only ekadimsum and ekapekingduck.

p.s. i haven't changed my signature but it's suddenly not appearing. it's going to be my permanent signature though i have no immediate plans of living up to it, lol.

Yes he did. A honorable man he ended the fast only after TN gov agreed to his demand 100%. Will Hazare fast until his demands are met?
