i was thinking about interesting melodies from the 80s that were constantly on the radio and this came to mind. never mind the silly dance.



the woman is gemini ganesan's daughter (you can see the resemblance to rekha) and a medical doctor. this was a one off movie for her.

I am not much of a fan when it comes to tamil movie songs of the 70s/80s - iLayaraja had good ones in the beginning and then sporadically. Fast forward to the 21st century or rewind to the 60s.

Same here.  Telugu and Tamil movies owe a lot to stalwarts like Chintaiah, Subburaman, Rajeswara Rao, etc. Just listen to the music of Subburaman and Rajeswara Rao! They were genuinely great. Malleswari, Chandirani, Devadas, Chenchu Lakshmi, Vipra Narayana, Ratnamaala, Laila Majnu, Swapna Sundari, Appuchesi Pappukoodu........
