I enjoyed watching the above bbc documentary which explores lang lang's childhood and influences as he grew to become possibly the world's most famous pianist. at first I didn't think i'd watch the whole thing but I it was so excellently made that I watched it in bits and pieces over three days.

Parts that standout, although all of it is fantastic: Lang Lang auditioning teachers for his music school, one of them ends up in tears - watch his response. Lang Lang's father suggests that both should commit suicide after he is judged harshly by a teacher etc. And of course the music and the dramatic way he plays it...though the latter was a bit much after a couple  of pieces. it doesn't allow one to think about how they feel or interpret the music cuz he's dramatizing his feelings for it.
