Was Professor Kalburgi killed by BJP? The evidence is suggestive.
Another standard policing measure too seems absent - to question those who led protests against Professor Kalburgi last year when his comments critiquing idol worship and other religious beliefs enraged some right-wing Hindu groups and sections of his own community, the Lingayats. The protests appeared so menacing that they led to the professor being given security by the police.
Those protests, spearheaded by the local wing of the BJP and a host of Hindutva outfits are at odd with their posthumous respect for Professor Kalburgi.
In a June 2014 video, BJP protesters in Bangalore are seen and heard calling Professor Kalburgi anti-national, anti-Hindu, and a liar. They repeatedly ask for his arrest. Placards at the meeting ask for him to be thrown out of the country. A separate image shows BJP protestors even staging mock shradhh (post-death rituals) for Professor Kalburgi. There were similar demonstrations in Dharwad.

Re: Was Professor Kalburgi killed by BJP? The evidence is suggestive.
Over the last few years, Kalburgi clashed with some Hindutva groups when he backed the late writer U R Ananthamurthy in a long-running controversy. Bajrang Dal activists burnt an effigy of Kalburgi in June last year. Bhuvith Shetty, co-convenor of the Bajrang Dal in Bantwal, tweeted on August 30 that those who mock Hinduism would die “a dog’s death”, adding a threat against another professor and rationalist: “And dear K S Bhagawan, you are next.” Bantwal police have taken up a suo motu case, citing attempt to cause riots and criminal intimidation, against Mr Shetty, who deleted his account and has not yet been located.

Kalburgi's death will not be in vain, as his killers imagine; because ideas cannot be killed. In fact, by killing him, the Hindutvas have helped spread his ideas even more.

Your usual rantings about Hindutva and BJP without any real basis. It seems his own community people (Lingaayats) were opposed to his views and statements on Lingaayat sect, and he had even sought police protection against them in the past for himself and his family,Rashmun wrote:Kalburgi's death will not be in vain, as his killers imagine; because ideas cannot be killed. As the ndtv article says, the protests by members of his Lingayat community against Kalburgi was spearheaded by the BJP. The BJP killed Kalburgi either directly or indirectly (by creating conditions/atmosphere which encouraged some fanatic to take the initiative to kill Kalburgi). And notice that the BJP had performed post-death rituals for Kalburgi indicating that they wanted him dead.

So you want to blame the BJP (a political party), because this guy made statements against his own community leaders (Lingaayats) which possibly could have led to his being shot directly or indirectly by someone in his own community?Rashmun wrote:Seva Lamberdar wrote:Your usual rantings about Hindutva and BJP without any real basis. first, you are silent on the fact that the protests of the Lingayats against Kalburgi were spearheaded by the BJP. Second you are silent on the fact that BJP performed post-death rituals for Kalburgi (while he was alive) indicating that they wanted him dead. You silence on these two points speaks volumes about your partiality towards the BJP.

Your silence on the two points i mentioned continues unabated. Let me repeat the points: The Lingayat protests against Kalburgi were spearheaded by BJP; and BJP performed post-death rituals for Kalburgi while he was alive thus indicating that it wanted him dead.

Regarding the issues promoted by Kalburgi (e.g. opposing the caste system and idol worship etc.), Arya Samaj and its leaders have been doing the same for over a century (opposing the caste system and idol worship); and the BJP has never protested against Arya Samaj and its leaders for opposing the idol worship or caste system. You can check out this with the Arya Samaj.

Did someone sleep with Sonia when CONmen won the election in 2004?
Did Pappu privately throw up after eating Aarti's food?
Was Doggy imagining about Hema Malini when he was with Amrita?
Did Abhishaking Man Sexvi recite Hanuman chalisa when he was with the female lawyer?

Two wrongs don't make one right. Concentrate and focus on the killing of Kalburgi for now; don't make irrelevant digressions.

Since the goons who were making the anti-Kalburgi protests were considered so menacing that police protection had to be given to Professor Kalburgi, if the BJP was not involved in the protests it could have made a public declaration that the goons were not BJP people. But it did not such thing. So it is reasonable to conclude that the goons who made the anti-Kalburgi protests, and performed post-death rituals for Professor Kalburgi while he was alive, were in fact BJP goons.

Since these guys, who protested against Kalburgi because of his opposition to the caste system and idol worship, were claiming to be from the BJP is a clear indication that they were very likely paid / hired by someone else (some anti-BJP outfit) to do and say that (protest against Kalburgi and claim to be from the BJP) for giving a bad name to the BJP.Rashmun wrote:Rashmun wrote:Seva Lamberdar wrote:"Your silence on the two points i mentioned continues unabated.
