i don't think white collar workers understand the real angst amongst the people who have lost out in the last 10-15 years. i don't, and i bet most people here don't. just looking at employment numbers might be misleading.

US 2016 is a global economy and those days are never going to come back. Improvise, apply or wither.MaxEntropy_Man wrote:southindian wrote:This country is asking for a Hitler when job growth is highest in Feb and US is doing best among developed countries.

I'm afraid what happens if US ever gets close to any South American, Asian or European economy. These intolerants will then get a Hitler times 2?

This situation gives me further evidence that in a Presidential race the voters should be allowed to vote both sides Republican and Democrat. We are after all trying to vote for the best possible person to run our country. I realize some would try to vote for the weakest "opposing" candidate but most of us would in fact vote for whom we would rather have as our President should our choice lose. For me now the Republican side is very frightening. There isn't a choice there anymore that I can see bringing our country together should they win.

Re: Why Trump now?
For all the bashing of corporate taxes (I don't mean you), Burger King moving its HQ to socialist Canada makes zero sense, doesn't it? Aren't the socialist countries supposed to tax the heck out of every citizen and corporate entity? Isn't that what we were taught by economics geniuses? America has been outsourcing its manufacturing jobs since Reagan times, it doesn't matter who the president was, loss of manufacturing jobs has been a constant.MaxEntropy_Man wrote:southindian wrote:This country is asking for a Hitler when job growth is highest in Feb and US is doing best among developed countries.

if the tables were turned, and it was the dems who were imploding, i bet the rethuglicans will stand on the sidelines clapping with glee. what i see amongst my dem friends instead is fear that the other party has gone completely bonkers. i think that's a fundamental difference between party acolytes on the two sides.

In short this will be one interesting election - where interest will last well into the convention. perhaps next to 1968 Dems convention.

It looks like people (voters) are ready now to elect a businessman to the presidency after electing politicians as presidents in the past.

Here is the kicker. Jared Kushner's father Charles was convicted of illegal campaign contributions to Democrats. He was prosecuted by Chris Christie.Marathadi-Saamiyaar wrote:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Kushner wrote:Political fundraising, convictions, and tampering[edit]
Kushner is a major donor to the Democratic Party, most notably to former New Jersey Governor Jim McGreevey.[15] In 2005, following an investigation by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of New Jersey,[15] Kushner was convicted of making illegal campaign contributions, tax evasion and witness tampering.[16] Chris Christie, then the U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey, negotiated a plea agreement with him and he was sentenced to two years in prison.[1][17] [18] He has since been released and humiliatingly dis-barred. Re: Why Trump now?
Last spring, a Homeland Security special agent testified that EB-5 applicants from China, Russia, Pakistan and Malaysia "had been approved in as little as 16 days, with files lacking basic law enforcement queries." And a report last year by the Department of Homeland Security Inspector General found politically connected participants may have received favorable treatment, citing projects involving Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe and Hillary Clinton’s brother, Tony Rodham.
A spokesman for Governor McAuliffe said the report demonstrates that he, “along with many other bipartisan individuals and businesses," asked Homeland Security "to fulfill its obligation to adjudicate the applications that were before them in a timely fashion.”
Rodham said in a phone interview that his interaction with Homeland Security was appropriate.
