Currently there is a fight taking place in India. It is a fight between Hindutva Fascism and Nehruvian Indian Secularism. Since Nehruvian secularism represents progress, while Hindutva fascism represents the opposite of progress, it is obvious that Nehruvian secularism will triumph in the long run even if Hindutva Fascism manages to achieve temporary short term tactical victories.

Not allowing a floor test on the floor of the assembly in Uttarakhand and summarily dismissing this duly elected government signifies that dark days have come to India under the leadership of the Hindutva fascists. But the problem with these fascists is that history is not on their side. What Voltaire wrote in his "Philosophical Dictionary" about the fundamentalist Christian priests of his times is applicable to the Hindutva Fascists of our times:

Tremble lest the day of reason arrives.
